This Sonoma vineyard was planted in the early 1970s on an exceptionally cool site lined with redwoods. Its clay loam soil is well suited for dry farming. Half of the chardonnay is pressed directly and fermented as a white wine in stainless tanks and the other half is destemmed and macerated on skins for 12 days and then raised in 300 gal HDPE tanks. The muscat comes from the Hartwick Vineyard in Lodi and is fermented on the skins for 7 days. The wines were blended just prior to bottling.
